the vase features a sculptural elongated form with an asymmetrical opening and two expressive curved handles. Its bold polychrome decoration combines bright yellow, black, white and turquoise-green, creating a particularly graphic and decorative composition.

the underside bears the hand-painted gf monogram together with the words “fait main”.

gabriel fourmaintraux was an important french ceramicist associated with desvres and known for his colourful post-war decorative ceramics.

the vase has a strong architectural presence and works particularly well in mid-century modern, mediterranean, eclectic and contemporary interiors.
