Pair of European Art Deco bedside tables in figured walnut veneer, 1930s. The two are built as a mirrored pair, one for each side of a bed.
Each nightstand combines a cylindrical cabinet with an open side section. The cabinet has a curved door on a full-length hinge, opening to a single interior shelf. Beside it, an open niche sits above two bow-front drawers with fluted black knobs. A tall backboard with a stepped, rounded shoulder rises behind the top.
The veneers are well chosen, with strongly figured, bookmatched walnut on the doors and crossbanded edges on the tops. Both cases rest on a rounded, two-lobed plinth.
The curved volumes and layered forms place the pair firmly within Art Deco and Streamline Moderne design. Practical storage in a compact, sculptural format.
