The textile depicts a matador facing a bull beneath the inscription “Plaza de Toros Monumental”, together with the programme for two bullfights held on 13 and 14 August 1969.

The programme includes several major figures of Spanish bullfighting, including Antonio Ordóñez, Diego Puerta, Santiago Martín “El Viti”, Antonio Bienvenida, Curro Girón and Manuel Benítez “El Cordobés”.

Printed on fabric rather than paper, the piece has a strong decorative presence, with a distinctive period palette of pink, ochre, brown and turquoise blue.

The textile shows natural folds, creases and age-related irregularities consistent with its age. The old wooden frame has an attractive patina and complements the textile particularly well.

A highly decorative example of mid-century Spanish wall art, suitable for Mediterranean, rustic, eclectic or wabi-sabi interiors.
