Entirely made of copper, the umbrella stand features a wonderfully unusual silhouette and richly textured surface, with the repoussé decoration emphasizing the characteristic details of the Western boot. Its bold form makes it an exceptionally decorative and conversation-starting piece, whether used in an entryway as originally intended or displayed simply as a sculptural decorative object. We also find it particularly striking when used as an oversized vase for dramatic and unconventional cascading floral arrangements, where its unusual shape can create a spectacular visual effect. The piece has been thoroughly cleaned and polished using a specialized product chosen specifically to preserve rather than completely remove its aged character. Its original patina has therefore been retained, including the beautiful green verdigris oxidation that has developed naturally on the copper over time. A highly distinctive example of Italian mid-century artisan craftsmanship, combining rustic tradition with an unexpected Western-inspired design.
