An exceptional vintage Italian side table with a striking burgundy marble top and an intricately relief-decorated brass base.
The square, yet organically curved and multi-curved marble tray is the true highlight of this table. Deep wine-red, Bordeaux, and brown hues are interwoven with a complex network of light, cream, and white natural veins. The natural markings of the stone make each slab unique.
The richly ornamented brass base combines flowing Baroque forms with decorative relief work. The boldly sculpted ornaments, curved legs, floral elements, and existing patina lend the piece a distinctly decorative, sculptural quality.
The craftsmanship is particularly interesting for collectors: the individual leg joints are visible beneath the marble top. Each leg segment bears an engraving of "Made in Italy."
