The model is one of Hammerborg’s most recognizable designs and was produced in several color variations and sizes. 

The shade takes the form of a regular hemispherical dome, topped with a short, cylindrical mounting element. The smooth surface of the lacquered metal emphasizes the purity of the form and the design’s lack of superfluous ornamentation.

The lampshade’s distinctive design is subordinated to its lighting function—the light is directed straight downward, providing concentrated, even illumination of the surface below. The simple form and the way the light is directed are typical of Hammerborg’s designs, in which technical solutions remain an integral part of the composition.

The Bunker model was part of an extensive series that included pendant, table, floor, and wall lamps. The surviving Fog & Mørup catalog materials document the Bunker model and date from the 1960s and 1970s. 
