The work depicts a maritime coast under a sky heavy with clouds, through which a ray of moonlight finds its way to reflect on the water, creating suggestive luministic effects. The scene is an example of Viriglio's attention to light effects and temporal variations, distinctive elements of his painting style. The painting is presented in a period frame with adapted measurements. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
