Constructed from solid oak, the chest features a handsome panelled front with molded reserves, lending architectural character to its otherwise restrained form.

The original iron hardware remains intact, including the decorative lock plate and wrought iron hinges mounted to the lid. These forged elements contrast beautifully with the warm patina of the oak and emphasize the piece's authentic country-house character. A carved date of 1825 attests to its age and historical significance.

The interior offers generous storage space and retains a small side compartment, traditionally used for storing valuables, documents, or smaller household items. Elevated on shaped bracket feet, the chest possesses a balanced and timeless silhouette suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Rich in patina and displaying the honest wear acquired over two centuries, this blanket chest works equally well as a storage piece, coffee table, hall bench, or statement item within rustic, farmhouse, primitive, and historic interiors.

Presented in good condition with normal signs of age and use consistent with its period. See less
