Elegant late 19th/early 20th-century French Louis XV Revival commode featuring a sculptural bombe silhouette, serpentine façade and gracefully curved sides. Richly figured wood veneer is arranged in book-matched geometric patterns with decorative inlay and contrasting borders.
Notable details include the shaped natural marble top, ornate bronze-tone ring pulls and escutcheons, curved side panels, decorative corner motifs, and carved/turned cabriole-style feet. The combination of flowing Louis XV forms with more structured geometric veneer work reflects the later French revival interpretation of 18th-century Rococo design.
The commode includes a narrow upper drawer above three generous drawers and offers substantial storage while serving as a striking decorative focal point.
Condition: Authentic age-related wear, including veneer/trim losses along the lower perimeter and a chip/loss to one corner of the marble top. All detached trim pieces will be provided. All condition issues are clearly shown in the photographs.
