J.B. Betson was a New York-based importer and distributor of Japanese decorative wares during the 20th century. The company sourced porcelain from Japanese makers for the American market, which accounts for the variety of forms and decoration found under the Betson name.
Dating to approximately the mid-20th century, likely 1940s–1950s, this unusually substantial covered dish works beautifully as a dining-table centerpiece, sideboard display, or decorative serving piece.
