An extraordinary, museum-tier contemporary masterpiece for the serious connoisseur of studio ceramics. This monumental, authentic vintage 1990s Raku studio pottery vessel is hand-signed on the reverse base by acclaimed American ceramicist Candone Wharton.
The structural form perfectly showcases Wharton’s highly coveted, signature multi-dimensional basketweave hand-coiled exterior texturing, beautifully contrasted against a vibrant turquoise crackle glaze. The vessel features a brilliant, lustrous metallic gold-toned rim that gives way to a shocking, high-gloss oxblood red glazed interior chamber.
Born from an organic fusion of American studio design, traditional Japanese rapid-firing mechanics, and Moroccan luster glaze dynamics, this one-of-a-kind sculptural piece serves as a commanding architectural anchor for upscale Brutalist, Postmodern, or Zen-inspired luxury interiors.
