This striking pair of vintage porcelain pheasants brings a touch of color and elegance to any interior. Each bird is finely modeled perched upon a tall, sculpted rock base, featuring a hand-painted body with a yellow head, white and black speckled neck, and a bright orange-red breast. Their long tail feathers are painted in a rich green with incised ribbed texture, cascading down the side of the rock. The bases are glazed in a mottled grey-brown to simulate stone. The undersides bear impressed seal marks. In traditional culture, pheasants are symbols of beauty, good fortune, and fidelity. These tall figures make a striking addition to a collection of ceramic birds or Asian decorative arts.
