Here is a vintage folk art style rooster table lamp, featuring a wonderfully whimsical sculptural bird captured in a lively, running pose. Believed to be made from wood composite, the rooster has a richly textured, intentionally distressed painted finish in shades of brick red, charcoal black and tan.
The exaggerated form is especially charming, with an elongated neck, outstretched legs, dramatically curved tail feathers and beautifully detailed wings. The shape of the outstretched feet is really special.
The rooster is mounted on a slender black metal support above a stepped black wooden base, giving the sculptural figure a real sense of movement. Both playful and decorative, this unusual lamp brings wonderful personality to a country kitchen, rustic living room or collected interior.
The lamp takes a standard bulb and has a switch on the cord.
