Designed in the … Read more An impressive pair of early 20th-century brass and crystal girandoles, each rising a substantial 33 inches high. Designed in the French tradition, the lamps combine an architectural brass framework with tiers of hand-cut crystal drops, glass finials and delicate floral-form crystal details. Six candle cups on each girandole create a wonderfully luminous effect when lit, with the crystal catching and refracting the light throughout the arrangement.

Their scale is particularly appealing. At 33 inches high, these have enough presence to anchor a large console, buffet or pair of commodes without disappearing into the room. They would be especially handsome flanking a giltwood mirror in a formal entry, illuminating a dining room sideboard, or bringing a slightly grand European note to an English Country or French-inspired interior. Despite the abundance of crystal, the aged brass framework keeps them from feeling overly precious.

The pair remains in good antique condition, with the expected surface variation and signs of age. All crystals are present. Both lamps power on and are wired for use with U.S. outlets.
