Vintage hand-cut and hand-painted plywood Santa Claus decoration made from an Easi-Bild Pattern Company design, circa 1950s. Based in Pleasantville, New York, Easi-Bild marketed full-size patterns that allowed home craftspeople to transfer designs onto plywood, cut out the shapes, and decorate them using the supplied painting guides.
This cheerful Santa is depicted waving while dressed in a traditional red suit with white trim, a black belt, yellow mittens, and black boots. Its visibly handmade construction and individually applied paint give the piece the distinctive character associated with mid-century homemade holiday displays.
The Santa retains two mounting brackets on the backs of the feet, indicating that it was designed to be secured as part of a seasonal indoor or outdoor Christmas display. Its substantial size and timeworn painted surface make it an appealing example of vintage American holiday folk décor.

The painted surface exhibits widespread chipping, peeling, flaking, scratches, scuffs, fading, and areas of exposed plywood. Additional wear is visible along the cut edges and around the feet. Age-related surface irregularities and variations in the hand-applied paint contribute to the piece’s authentic homemade character. Two mounting brackets remain present on the backs of the feet.
