A large contemporary New York City taxi traffic painting, signed “Salomon 2016” at the lower left. Executed in oil on canvas, this square-format urban scene measures 40 inches high by 40 inches wide and presents the congestion, movement, and visual density of Midtown Manhattan.

Multiple yellow taxicabs overlap across the foreground and middle distance, creating the compressed sensation of being caught directly within a New York traffic jam. The closest taxi is dramatically cropped along the lower and side edges, pulling the viewer into the composition. Beyond the vehicles, loosely articulated towers, traffic lights, and street signs rise through a canyon of blue-gray architecture.

Salomon works with a deliberately restricted palette dominated by taxi yellow, pale blue, slate blue, and black. The contrast between the warm ochre vehicles and the cool architectural background produces the painting’s immediate visual energy.
