Three-piece biomorphic coffee table in polished stainless steel, dating to the early 2000s. Each table is a separate sculptural form with an irregular outline, a continuous metal top, and sides that descend to the floor. The highly polished surfaces reflect their surroundings and give the substantial steel forms a changing appearance as the viewer moves around them.
Arranged together as photographed, the three pieces create an expansive coffee table measuring approximately 88 inches wide. Their differing shapes and heights allow numerous configurations: the tables can be clustered closely, spread across a seating area, or used separately as individual coffee and occasional tables. The longest piece provides a broad, low surface, while the two smaller pieces can be positioned alongside it or placed elsewhere in a room. There is no fixed arrangement, making the set adaptable to different furniture plans. The tops have a mirror-like polish that reflects the room and objects above them with striking clarity. In the photographs, even the ceiling beams are visible across the surfaces, emphasizing the fluid outlines of each table.
The freeform outlines and mirror-polished stainless steel are inspired by Karl Springer’s iconic Free Form table design. This set is offered as an early-2000s work in that design tradition; no maker attribution is asserted. The quality of the visual effect lies in the relationship between the three forms: curved and angular passages meet at different points depending on their placement, while reflections make their boundaries appear to shift with the light. Used together, they form a substantial centerpiece approximately seven feet across.
The set weighs approximately 150–200 pounds in total. Each piece is movable independently, permitting the arrangement to be changed without altering the tables themselves. All three pieces are included and are offered as one set.
