Tarnished to a warm, worn tone, the metal stands out against the deep brown wood. Chests of this form, known as bandaji, were made in Korea for storing blankets and household goods.

At 36 inches wide and 35 inches tall, it fits where a console or low cabinet might go: in an entry, at the foot of a bed or beside a sofa, with objects on top. The brass catches the light, so it reads well against plain plaster walls and natural textures.
