Tested, … Read more Art Deco-style milk glass flush mount ceiling light with a swirling white glass globe and ornate vintage metal fixture. Tested, working and ready to hang. This petite ceiling light brings exactly the kind of character designers are using to replace ordinary builder-grade fixtures. The elongated white milk glass globe has a beautiful diagonal swirl pattern that softly diffuses the light, while the heavily detailed vintage metal ceiling fixture adds architectural texture and an aged, collected look. Both the glass globe and metal fixture are vintage pieces, but they were not originally manufactured together. They have been paired because their scale, fitter and style work beautifully together. I prefer to disclose this clearly rather than represent it as an untouched original matching fixture. The ornate ceiling plate and sculptural fitter have strong Art Deco and Neoclassical influence, while the elongated spiral milk-glass shade gives the fixture an early architectural-lighting feel. It works especially well with today's Modern Heritage, collected European, traditional, Art Deco, cottage, bungalow and old-house interiors. This is also a smart choice where you want vintage character without a large chandelier hanging into the room. Approximate overall dimensions: 7.5" H × 4.5" W × 4.5" D. Petite proportions make it especially useful for hallways, entryways, foyers, landings, closets, pantries, small bedrooms, and powder-room-style spaces where appropriate electrical ratings permit. Hardwired ceiling fixture. The wiring has been checked, the fixture has been tested, and it is working properly and ready to hang. The milk glass creates a soft, diffused glow instead of exposing the bulb directly. Because this is vintage hardwired lighting, professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Good vintage condition with authentic age-related wear and patina to the metal fixture. Minor wear and scratches are a normal part of vintage items unless stated differently. The finish has not been artificially made to look new. The variation and aged surface are part of the fixture's character. Please review all photographs closely, including detailed condition photographs. Use this over a small entry, upstairs hallway, reading nook or narrow landing where a large fixture would overwhelm the architecture. For a designer look, pair it with dark wood, warm white walls, antique brass, walnut, vintage artwork, patterned wallpaper or other collected pieces. The contrast between the crisp white milk glass and aged metal makes it particularly effective in a modern room that needs one authentic vintage element. A small fixture with considerably more personality than its footprint suggests. SKU: 0562055 See less
