Look at the carving first. A single leaf rises from the center of each face, framed by tight scrolls at the corners and a small diamond motif cut into the foot. A rimmed top with a round recess crowns the piece, and the whole thing wears a dark, painted finish worn soft by age. This antique teak capital has the quiet weight of something made by hand to hold up a structure.
At 12 inches across and 8 inches tall, it fits a console, a mantel, a bedside table or an entry. Rest a pillar candle in the recess, set a bowl or a sculpture on top, or use it as a low riser for a lantern or a plant.
