A square plinth wears a diamond lattice pattern in chocolate brown, with small green and teal accents between the diamonds, and above it a full, rounded body rises in cream paint worn thin over brown. The cream has chipped and cracked in layers, so the surface reads like a map of its own history. This antique teak pedestal has the kind of finish that no one can reproduce.

At 12 inches across and 9 inches tall, it stands comfortably on a console, a bookshelf, a mantel or a side table. A flat black disc sits in the top, a level seat for a pillar candle, a bowl or a small sculpture.
