An intricately carved stone vase featuring birds nestled among flowering branches, layered foliage, and sculptural vessel motifs. Deep relief and pierced openwork give the composition remarkable depth, creating a richly detailed decorative piece.
The stone appears to be soapstone, with mottled olive green, warm tan, brown, and subtle russet tones that complement the botanical design. Its substantial weight and elaborate carving give it a strong presence on a console, mantel, or display shelf.
The design is consistent with traditional Chinese decorative stone carving; the maker, exact age, and country of manufacture are unverified.
