Impressive matched pair of large framed legal-themed engravings, offered together as a coordinated set.
Both works feature richly detailed historical courtroom and legal scenes rendered in black and white and presented in substantial black frames with gilt accents.
The first work is “The Country Attorney and His Clients,” traditionally associated with engraver Anthony Walker (1726–1765) and published by John Boydell in London in 1764. Based on the image, inscription, scale, and format, this example appears consistent with an early impression of the well-known Anthony Walker engraving, although the precise printing date has not been independently authenticated. The composition depicts a country attorney seated with his clients in a richly detailed interior.
The companion work, “The Plaintiff and the Defendant,” presents another highly detailed legal scene with a similarly strong historical and narrative quality. Together, the two create a striking and highly decorative pair well suited to a library, study, law office, traditional interior, or collected gallery wall.
Both pieces are professionally framed in coordinating black and gold-toned frames, creating a handsome and unified presentation. Their generous scale gives the pair substantial presence on the wall.
