One bird stands poised among dense tropical foliage while the second displays an expansive fan of finely rendered white tail feathers accented with soft celadon, aqua and pale gold “eye” markings.

The surrounding landscape is richly layered with palms, flowering foliage and atmospheric passages of blue, lavender, green, plum and warm golden tones. Particularly beautiful attention has been given to the peacocks’ delicate plumage, facial features and individual feather work, creating an ethereal almost dreamlike quality.

The painting is presented in an elaborate antiqued gilt frame with deeply molded floral, foliate and scroll ornamentation at the corners and along the perimeter. The substantial frame adds a strong Old World and European decorative presence that beautifully balances the exotic garden subject.

A highly decorative statement piece well suited to Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, Grandmillennial, Traditional, Maximalist or European-inspired interiors. It would be especially striking over a fireplace, console, sideboard or large entry wall. See less
