This impressive antique jade sculpture depicts a standing elephant, a traditional symbol of strength, wisdom, and good fortune. The elephant is finely carved with a detailed head, flared ears, tusks, and a trunk curled inward holding a small object. The body is richly colored with a mottled blend of brown, yellow, and russet tones, characteristic of aged Hetian jade, and is covered in finely incised calligraphy characters across its back and flanks. The stone exhibits a smooth, polished surface with natural variations and inclusions. This piece is a distinguished example of traditional jade carving and would make a significant addition to any collection of Asian antiques or carved stone figures.
