This striking antique bronze sculpture depicts a mythical beast, possibly a reclining unicorn or guardian creature, captured in a dynamic, low-slung pose. The figure is intricately cast with a detailed face, prominent ears, and a flowing tail, and is heavily adorned with elaborate, scrolling gold inlay across its entire body. The bronze exhibits a rich, dark patina with extensive areas of green verdigris and remnants of reddish-brown pigment, giving it a distinguished, excavated appearance. The underside features gilt inscriptions. This piece is a powerful representation of traditional metalwork and would make a captivating addition to any collection of antique bronzes or Asian artifacts.
