Baker Furniture French Provincial Louis XV-style wingback fauteuil and matching ottoman, dating to circa 1960s. The generously scaled fauteuil features an elaborately carved walnut frame with graceful cabriole legs, shaped apron, scrolling arms, and a dramatic winged back characteristic of the French Louis XV tradition. The matching oversized ottoman echoes the chair's serpentine apron, carved detailing, and cabriole-leg form, creating a cohesive and sophisticated seating ensemble.
The sculptural walnut frames display particularly attractive movement and carving, with the curvilinear silhouettes emphasizing the romantic character of the French Provincial design. The set is currently upholstered in a period red woven textile with decorative nailhead trim.
The upholstery requires reupholstery, offering an excellent opportunity to transform the ensemble with a luxurious contemporary textile, velvet, linen, or patterned fabric while preserving the beautifully detailed original Baker frames.
The accompanying photograph showing the fauteuil and ottoman upholstered in olive-green fabric is provided as an example of how the set could look following professional reupholstery. The green upholstery shown is not the current upholstery and is intended solely as a visual reference for a potential finished presentation.
A distinctive vintage Baker ensemble well suited to a luxury living room, library, bedroom sitting area, or eclectic French-inspired interior. The combination of substantial scale, sculptural carved walnut, and Louis XV styling gives the set a particularly strong decorative presence.

The original carved wood frames retain their strong decorative character and exhibit normal age-related wear consistent with vintage use, including minor surface scratches, abrasions, small finish variations, and scattered signs of handling. The carved detailing remains well defined, and the cabriole legs and structural elements present well overall. The existing upholstery is worn and should be professionally reupholstered. Reupholstery is recommended both for cosmetic improvement and to bring the ensemble to a higher-end decorative standard. The underlying frames provide an excellent foundation for restoration. The accompanying green-upholstered photograph is a visual example of the potential appearance after reupholstery and is not representative of the current condition or upholstery. Sold as shown. Professional reupholstery is required. Wood frames exhibit normal age-related wear, including minor surface imperfections and finish variation consistent with age and use.
