The distinctive construction allows the vase to sit at a dramatic angle, creating a playful wobble or tumbling effect while remaining beautifully balanced.
Crafted from substantial transparent green glass, the piece has wonderful depth of colour, particularly around the thick base and rim. Its sculptural form makes it equally effective displayed empty as a decorative art object or styled with a small arrangement of flowers.
The design has a strong Scandinavian and European modernist aesthetic, with elements of Space Age and kinetic design. The exact maker is currently unknown, so no firm attribution is made.
A particularly unusual statement piece for a Mid-Century Modern, contemporary or eclectic interior. See less
