A charming and wonderfully sculptural 1999 R. Shipman Inc. mermaid angel cherub shelf sitter, depicting a winged mermaid seated gracefully with her tail curled beneath her.
The expressive figure features a sweet cherubic face with one hand playfully raised to her mouth and the other resting against her leg. Large, dramatically textured wings extend behind her, finished with softly aged gold accents that contrast beautifully against the ivory/cream figure.
The sculptural detailing is particularly lovely, from the textured mermaid tail and layered wings to the expressive facial features and curled hair. Her substantial weight gives her a wonderfully solid presence for display on a mantel, bookshelf, console, or tabletop.
The underside is marked “1999 R. Shipman Inc.” and retains a manufacturer label noting designed in Atlanta, made in China.

The ivory finish shows areas of discoloration, patina, surface wear and rubbing, particularly to the figure and wings. The gilt finish on the wings has areas of wear and variation that contribute to the antique-inspired appearance.
