Beautiful framed Buddha temple stone rubbing featuring a serene Buddha portrait in earthy bronze, brown, and charcoal tones. This portrait is an authentic ink and pigment Chinese temple stone rubbing. It was made directly from an ancient stone wall relief, likely originating from one of China's monumental Buddhist grotto sites.
Presented in a dark bamboo-style wooden frame with a warm, rustic finish. It's a lovely piece of Asian-inspired wall art that works especially well in Wabi-Sabi, Organic Modern, and eclectic interiors.
A small circular vermilion seal appears beneath the Buddha's ear, stamped directly onto the paper. Age and artist are unconfirmed. Please see condition details and photos.

Condition: Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, discoloration, spotting, and natural irregularities throughout the rice paper. As this is a traditional stone rubbing, some surface pigment appears to have transferred onto the inside of the glass where the artwork makes contact. This can occur with delicate, unfixed rubbing pigments over time and is consistent with the nature of the medium. The bamboo-style frame shows scuffs and finish wear. Original paper backing has staining and deterioration along the edges. Sold as found and has not been cleaned or restored. Please review all photos for condition details.
