A substantial antique three-drawer commode with the warm, time-softened character of late 18th-century French Provincial furniture. The case is constructed in walnut with lighter contrasting inlay outlining the top, drawer fronts and side panels, and is finished with decorative brass bail pulls and ornate keyhole escutcheons. Its shaped sides, gently flared feet and generous proportions give it an architectural presence without feeling overly formal. At 46 inches wide, this is a versatile statement storage piece for a bedroom, entry, dining room or living space. The broad top works beautifully beneath a mirror or artwork, while three full-width drawers provide useful concealed storage.

CONDITION
Antique condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, marks, finish variation and areas of wood damage consistent with its history and use. The top has separated from the case along portions of the edges and curves upward somewhat in these areas. It remains firmly attached, does not move, and the chest is stable, very sturdy and heavy.
