The tree's trunk and branches are crafted from gilded metal, with the leaves formed from carved turquoise-blue and green hardstone or enamel. The branches are adorned with an array of round, polished gemstone "fruits" in warm amber, orange, and red tones, likely agate or carnelian. The blossoms are formed from carved white, yellow, and purple stones, each centered with a luminous faux pearl, resembling plum or cherry blossoms. Each planter is a lobed cloisonné enamel pot with a vibrant deep blue ground, decorated with a prominent pink peony blossom and green leaves, with a gilded rim and base. The interior is filled with a bed of multicolored crushed stone and glass, providing a decorative base for the composition. This is a highly decorative pair, ideal for a console table, desk, or collector's cabinet.
