The jar features a rounded, bulbous body with a fitted domed lid, topped by a prominent, fully gilded finial modeled as a seated lion. The piece is distinguished by its overall gilded surface, which gives the enamel a warm, luminous depth. Crafted from a copper body with intricate wire inlay and a complex "double-gourd" wire technique, the surface is densely decorated with scrolling floral and foliate motifs in shades of blue, green, red, purple, and white, set against the brilliant gold ground. The interior is glazed in a deep, rich cobalt blue. The rims, base, and lion finial are finished with polished gold gilding. The maker notes that this intricate technique is no longer in production, making it a rare and collectible piece. A highly decorative addition to any collection.
