An exquisite set of six antique 19th century French edition volumes of Walter Scott's iconic works, published in Paris in the mid-1830s by the renowned firm Firmin Didot Freres. Translated into French, this collection includes The Adventures of Nigel, The Prison of Mid-Lothian The Young Cameroonean Woman, The Antique Dealer, Waverley Sixty Years Ago, Kenilworth, and Woodstock of the Cavalier, A Tale of the Year 1651. This French collection is bound in period half- leather over marble papered boards.
Each volume features clean typography, classic French layout formatting and the signature printers mark emblem. A beautiful edition for an antique library or styling element. Lovely neutral color way with bright gold leaf lettering to the spines. Age has left these with lovely patina albeit discoloration and fraying to the edges.
