A very fine studio pottery vase by Swedish ceramic artist Hans Hedberg, made in Biot, France. With a slender body and gently flared neck, this piece features a vivid blue glaze mottled with mossy olive green and darker mineral tones. A subtle, richly textured, and earthy modernist effect.
Hans Hedberg (1917–2007) was a Swedish ceramic artist who made his home and studio in Biot, in the south of France. He became internationally known for his oversized ceramic fruits and richly mottled glazes, bringing the colors and textures of nature into both sculptural objects and everyday vessels. His work entered major museum collections, including Sweden’s Nationalmuseum, and is celebrated in a dedicated museum in his native Sweden.
