A luminous pastoral oil painting by George H. Barker, depicting two cows beside a reflective pond amid sunlit meadows and tall, delicately branching trees. A soft turquoise sky and layered shades of moss green, ochre, and warm brown give the landscape a peaceful, inviting atmosphere.
Visible brushwork brings texture to the foliage and grassy banks, while reflections of the cattle and trees draw the eye into the foreground water. Signed “G. H. Barker” at the lower right.
Presented in an ornate period gilt-finished frame with scrolling foliage, shell motifs, and richly patterned borders. The substantial frame complements the painting’s warm palette and traditional character.
Oil on canvas, undated. Catalogued by the auction house as George H. Barker (born 1920).
