This technique is distinguished by first applying a thick layer of silver to the copper body before the cloisonné wires are affixed, which gives the enamel a uniquely translucent, luminous, jade-like depth and brilliance. Each vase features a classic baluster form with a flared mouth and a rounded body. The exteriors are beautifully decorated with vibrant, multi-colored floral and foliate motifs in shades of blue, green, red, purple, and gold against a white ground. The interiors and bases are glazed in a deep, rich cobalt blue. Each vase is fitted with a small, dark wooden display stand, and the set comes in a fitted, fabric-lined presentation box with a yellow patterned exterior and a padded, golden-beige interior. This is a highly decorative and collectible set, perfect for display.
