A luminous circa-1920s color lithographic print of “Daybreak,” Maxfield Parrish’s celebrated 1922 composition and one of the most iconic images of the Golden Age of American illustration.
The romantic neoclassical scene depicts two figures resting beneath monumental columns, framed by a glowing mountain landscape and Parrish’s unmistakable blue-green palette. Published by The House of Art, New York, with the publisher’s copyright mark visible within the image.
Presented under glass in what appears to be its original period wood frame, finished in warm gilt with deep cobalt-blue accents. The combination of the richly colored image and architectural frame gives the piece exceptional decorative presence.
The vintage backing, hanging wire and period framer’s label remain intact. The artwork has not been removed from the frame.
