A striking pair of mid-century Italian Hollywood Regency-style table lamps, designed as stylized palm trees with hand-worked tole metal foliage and three scrolling candle arms. Each lamp features a tall column with a distressed faux-painted/marble finish, rising from a stepped square plinth base with dark contrasting platform and small feet.
The sculptural palm foliage retains an appealing aged gilt and verdigris-toned patina. Particularly unusual, each lamp incorporates three decorative candle sockets surrounding the palm tree in addition to the upper electric lamp fittings, creating the appearance of a palm-tree candelabrum converted or designed for use as a table lamp.
The pair is fitted with multi-light electrical clusters and is accompanied by large black shades with gold interiors. The naturally distressed surfaces, oxidation and wear give the lamps considerable decorative character.
