Substantial handmade wrought-iron fireplace trivet or kettle stand featuring traditional hand-worked construction and an appealing aged iron surface. The rectangular upper platform is formed from heavy iron straps with exposed riveted corner details, supported by four shaped legs with flattened feet.
A second slatted iron tier beneath the top adds both strength and visual interest. The slightly irregular workmanship, visible hammering and aged patina give the piece the character expected from hand-forged ironwork.
Originally designed as a practical hearth accessory for supporting cookware, kettles or warming vessels near a fireplace, today it also makes an excellent decorative hearth piece, plant stand, low display stand, or architectural accent in a rustic, farmhouse, Mediterranean or traditional interior.
