Each chair is stamped “DENMARK” beneath the seat.

The high backs are the defining element of the design. A slender woven cane panel rises vertically through the center of each chair, framed by large areas of open negative space. The cane panel subtly changes width as it approaches the shaped upper rail, creating an elegant vertical emphasis without adding visual weight.

Gently bowed crest rails transition into long, slightly tapering back supports. The arms have a particularly attractive profile, extending outward from the rear frame before curving toward their front supports. Below, clean seat rails and long tapered legs continue the restrained modernist construction.

The seats are upholstered in broad alternating cream and champagne-toned stripes, providing a soft contrast against the darker wood frames.

The combination of cane, upholstery, sculpted wood, and unusually tall proportions gives the pair a sophisticated mid-century presence. Particularly well suited as captain’s chairs at the ends of a dining table, they could also be used independently as statement, desk, or occasional armchairs.
