Each chair bears a “DENMARK” stencil beneath the seat.

The dramatic high backs are the defining feature of the design. A slender woven cane panel rises vertically through the center of each chair, framed by elongated areas of open negative space. The cane panel subtly changes width along its length and sits within its own narrow molded frame, giving the otherwise restrained construction an additional layer of detail.

Across the top, a broad gently bowed crest rail transitions into long outer back supports. The shaping around the upper corners creates a fluid connection between the crest and uprights, while the considerable open space surrounding the cane emphasizes the chairs’ height without making them appear visually heavy.

The lower construction is notably restrained, with clean seat rails and long tapered legs balancing the more expressive backs. Broad alternating cream and champagne-toned stripes cover the upholstered seats and provide a soft contrast against the darker wood frames.

An unusually architectural pair with a sophisticated mid-century profile. Ideal as dining chairs, but distinctive enough to work individually as desk, occasional, or accent seating.
