The chair is particularly expressive through the upper back. A broad shaped tablet displays pronounced natural grain and is crowned by a scrolling crest carved with foliate decoration. Carved floral rosettes terminate either end of the crest, creating a distinctly Classical profile.

Below, a broad vase-shaped central splat extends toward the seat and is surrounded by generous open space. Long curved outer stiles create a fluid silhouette from the crest to the seat frame.

The generously padded seat is upholstered in a cream ground needlepoint textile centered with a bouquet of pink roses, purple flowers, and green foliage. A bowed front seat rail complements the curved lines of the back.
