A handsome Louis XVI style carved Fauteuil armchair, featuring an oval upholstered back above a generously proportioned cushioned seat. The carved frame is finished in a softly distressed cream painted highlight, giving the chair an elegant aged appearance.
The chair is raised on tapered, fluted legs beneath carved floral corner blocks. Gracefully curved and fluted arm supports terminate in carved scroll details and upholstered arm pads. The oval back, seat, loose cushion, and armrests are upholstered in a cheerful multicolor plaid/check fabric in shades of pink, green, yellow and cream.
A decorative and comfortable interpretation of classic late-18th-century French seating, well suited for a bedroom, dressing room, living room or traditional interior.
