The rectangular top features an inlaid backgammon board, its characteristic playing points rendered in contrasting woods and framed by delicate floral and foliate marquetry. The richly decorated top displays fine geometric stringing alongside scrolling vines and stylized flowers. Additionally, contrasting woods create the backgammon pattern while highlighting the skilled craftsmanship and decorative character of late 18th-century italian furniture. Furthermore, the hinged top opens to reveal a green felt playing surface, allowing the table to serve different gaming purposes. Graceful cabriole legs and a shaped apron with restrained carved details give the table an elegant, light appearance. Both decorative and functional, this italian antique game table reflects the 18th-century tradition of creating sophisticated furniture for entertainment and social gatherings. Today, its unusual combination of backgammon board, marquetry decoration, and versatile playing surface makes it a distinctive addition to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
