A very elegant and decorative pair of mid-20th century French Louis XVI style painted stools. These exquisite vintage pieces feature beautifully carved, painted wooden frames with a lovely, aged patina. The stools are upholstered in a classic red and gold diamond-patterned fabric that adds a touch of regal sophistication to any room.
The frames are of excellent quality, featuring classical fluted, tapered legs topped with carved acanthus leaf motifs and corner paterae. The frieze (apron) is decorated with a detailed interwoven guilloche (chain) pattern, all showing strong influence from the neoclassical Louis XVI design. These versatile stools would be perfect as occasional seating in a living room, elegant bedroom footstools, or vanity stools.
