the pear-shaped bodies are fitted with short spouts, flared necks and loop handles painted in ochre and puce peigné decoration. One side of each piece has a polychrome floral bouquet centred on a puce rose; the reverse is painted with a pastoral landscape scene with figures. The covers carry green vine-sprig decoration.

claude perrin founded the marseille workshop in 1733. It was developed after 1748 by his widow, pierrette candelot, whose name veuve perrin became associated with fine petit feu enamel decoration. Works from the factory are represented in major museum collections worldwide.

the bases are marked with blue hand-painted vp monograms and dots, together with the impressed number 99.

weights: 289 g and 281 g.

condition
both jugs are in excellent condition, with crisp and well-preserved hand-painted decoration. Uv examination confirms no cracks, repairs or overpainting to the bodies.
one cover is in excellent condition. The second has two small chips to its inner seating rim but is otherwise in excellent condition. This piece has an attribution mark,
