Excellent meissen figurine group from the 19th century: a hunter in rococo attire - a yellow frock coat with a blue lapel and lining, light-coloured riding breeches and high black boots, a tricorn on his head, blowing the large hunting horn, standing amidst a pack of four hunting dogs; in his right hand he holds the lance resting on the ground, whilst the dogs, kept at bay, are partly baring their teeth as they pounce on the exhausted stag lying at the hunter’s feet. The group stands on a round natural plinth with a gold border and a stepped rim, which is adorned with sculpted, overlapping oak leaves in white.
