This vibrant vintage covered jar is a beautiful example of cloisonné enamel artistry.
The body features a rich red ground, exquisitely decorated with a large, prominent pink and white peony blossom—a traditional symbol of wealth and honor—surrounded by lush green leaves and smaller colorful floral motifs.
The intricate design is outlined in fine gilded wire, with a scalloped blue border detailing the shoulder and base.
The jar is topped with a matching domed lid. Its rounded, melon-like shape makes it a charming decorative piece, perfect for displaying on a shelf or mantel, or as a captivating addition to any collection of Asian antiques and enamelware.
