Offered is a set of hand painted ceramic serving pieces designed by Kåre Blokk Johansen and produced by Egersunds Fayancefabrik between 1971-1976. The "Unique" Series is famous for its vibrant, saturated yellow-orange glaze (resembling an egg yolk to some, we think of it more as a sweet potato color) paired with hand-painted olive-brown bands. Authentic vintage faience pieces from Egersund were created using a distinctive regional blend of clay, kaolin, Danish flint, and Norwegian quartz.

2 Oval Platters - 11.625" l, 8.75" w, 1" d
1 Small casserole (potato pot) 7" diameter, 3.25" h, 5.5" base diameter
1 medium casserole 7" diameter, 4.75" h, 5.5" base diameter
1 lid 5.75" diameter, 1" deep
Egersunds Fayancefabrik operated from 1847 to 1979 in Egersund, Norway, and was sold primarily in Europe and United Kingdom - it's rare to find them in the US.
